Australia becomes the 1st team to qualify for the semi-final stage after beating England




Defending champ Australia has beaten hosts England by 64 runs at the Lords cricket stadium.



Batting 1st Australia scored 285/7 in 50 overs. Finch scored his 4th century this year and 15th overall in ODI career.



In response England got all out for 221 in 44.4 overs. Ben Stokes was the highest scorer with 89 runs off 115 deliveries.


Behrendorff and Starc took 9 wickets between them to destroy the England batting. Australia has now become the 1st team in CWC 2019 to qualify for the semi-final stage. They have overall 12 points from 7 matches played so far.



England is at the 4th spot with 8 points from 7 games. They need to win their both matches against New Zealand and India to qualify for the semi-final stage. Nipah virus: 4 more Keralites suspected to have deadly virus Thiruvananthapuram : After Pune’s National Institute of Virology has confirmed that the Kerala 23-year-old youth, who was admitted to a private hospital in Ernakulam is affected by the Nipah virus, Kerala health minister KK Shailaja said four more people are found to have the symptoms of Nipah virus. According to reports, two nurses who treated the youth are found to have the symptoms of Nipah virus and they have been shifted to observation rooms.
